Un grito silente (A Silent Shout) is a site-specific sound installation that uses feedback as its central axis. Feedback involves the return of energy or information from the output back to the input of a system, creating dynamics of interrelation and interaction that, in this case, are experienced through the body and sound, resonating immersively throughout the architectural space. The installation is inspired by the biological concepts of autopoiesis and sympoiesis, establishing a metaphor between electroacoustic feedback and the self-generation of living systems and environments.

The installation crosses and tenses the architectural space through three steel cables that burst diagonally from the upper corner to the opposite lower one. These parallel tensions converge at the center through a subtle connector that places them in relation, and thus in constant affective exchange. The sonority of the installation is shaped by the tuning of the strings, adjusted using bass tuning pegs, and by the movement of a transducer mounted on an automated mechanism that, by tightening the strings, initiates a recursive cycle of vibration that fills the space with a booming, overwhelming, and rhythmic sound. The dim blue lighting, which obscures visibility, heightens the sensation of listening, emphasizing and intensifying it.
